Bottle update 06/19/2011
Just a quick update for Timothy. He's still doing really well! He is now getting to bottle feed 3 times a day. They don't let him bottle feed at every feeding yet because he's still learning how to suck, swallow, and breathe at the same time so bottle feeding is stressful and tiring. As he gets better at it, then they'll continue to increase the number of times he gets a bottle. The nurses and physical therapist all say he's doing a good job so far with the bottle feeding. He does better when they blow oxygen in his face during the feeding because it helps remind him to breathe. Eventually he should be able to do it without the oxygen. He is currently getting 40 mL of milk (a little over an ounce) at each feeding and he weighs 4 lbs 5.9 ounces. Paul got to help give Timothy a bath for the first time last night. It was funny because right as they started Timothy decided he needed to go to the bathroom! So, they had to clean out the bath area and start all over! Other than that, not much has been going on. Timothy's just eating, sleeping, and growing! =) CommentsLeave a Reply |
